Whether you are passionate about health, education, international development, or human rights, we want each one of our UNICEF at UGA members to have every opportunity to make an impact.

Our members get opportunities to volunteer around the Athens community and fundraise for children around the world. Our goal is to create a safe and inclusive environment that fosters community within the UGA student body. We hope that our members gain friendships, leadership skills, communication skills and organizational skills through our club.

For members in recent years, this has meant meeting with elected officials on Capitol Hill, planning a speaker panel highlighted by Forbes, and even serving as a UNICEF USA Youth Representative.

UNICEF at UGA is a collegiate chapter of UNICEF international, the global humanitarian organization.

Putting children first all over the world

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) works in more than 190 countries and territories to put children first. UNICEF has helped save more children’s lives than any other humanitarian organization by providing health care and immunizations, safe water and sanitation, nutrition, education, emergency relief and more. At the UGA chapter, we carry out this mission through efforts to support the national organization, as well as the local Athens community.

Our Mission

UNICEF at UGA, a student-led organization, is a campus initiative for the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF). Our purpose is to fundraise, educate, and advocate on behalf of UNICEF, working for better living conditions and opportunities for children and mothers locally and internationally! Through various fundraising and service opportunities, our chapter has donated thousands of dollars throughout the years.
